Sarah Kaufman (born September 20, 1985) is a professional female mixed martial artist, fighting in Strikeforce. She competes in the 135-pound women's welterweight category.
Kaufman was the first and only Hardcore Championship Fighting Women's Bantamweight Champion. On February 26, 2010 at ShoMMA 6: Kaufman vs. Hashi, Kaufman became the first Strikeforce Women's Welterweight Champion at 135 lbs. The title was formerly known as the Women's Featherweight Championship.
While she won both HCF and Strikeforce championships at the weight of 135 pounds, Strikeforce refers to their 135 lbs women's title as the Welterweight Championship. Kaufman lost the Strikeforce title to Marloes Coenen on October 9, 2010.
Kaufman is currently the #5-ranked pound-for-pound female MMA fighter in the world by MMARising.com and the #2-ranked 135-pound female fighter according to the Unified Women's MMA Rankings.
